CHAPTER 10

As Jay sat in his cell at the Camden County Jail, he could see the Philadelphia skyline, which looked very beautiful at night. One of the buildings had a sign in bright red letters which read P.S.F.S. It stood for Philadelphia Saving Fund Society, and it was one of the country's first banks. In Jay's mind, the letters stood for People Still Fucking Snitching. He couldn't believe what had just happened to him; he had gone from doing 364 days in the county jail to 30 years in a state prison. He would have to do at least half of that sentence before he became eligible for parole!

What was even worse was the bitch that crossed him and took his life away was the mother of his son. He was going to miss his money and his freedom, but most of all he was going to miss his 2-year-old son. During the two years Jay was on the run, he’d watched his son every day. LJ was smart and he and Jay had formed a bond that only a father could form with his son. Jay figured his son would be almost 19 years old by the time he got a shot at parole, because there was always the slight chance he could get a hit from the parole board because he was down on a violent crime.

All the members of the Sons of Sin were either in the process of getting shipped to prison or were already somewhere in the state prison system.

Jay was placed in 3 South A for temporary housing and even though the jail was crowded, he managed to get a top bunk. Usually new inmates slept on mats on the floor. Jay's celly was a cat named Joey; he was awaiting trial for home invasion, impersonating a police officer and first degree murder. He was a little nerdy looking guy, and dangerous but very cool.

He and his brother Crazy Eddie had a stick-up crew called the Untouchables. The Untouchables would pose as police officers doing a raid and take all the drugs and money from their victims. Crazy Eddie was already upstate on an unrelated murder charge. Jay's other celly was an old dope fiend who got caught selling beat bags of crack to an undercover detective. They didn't really care who shared a cell in Camden County Jail. The jail was so overcrowded that wherever there was space was where you would went.

Jay couldn't sleep so he spent the whole night looking out the window and thinking about his future, and how he’d let himself fall victim to the woman he loved. "I swear, I am gonna kill that fucking bitch one day."

"Yo, who the hell are you talking to?" Joey sat up on his bunk and asked Jay.

Jay didn't realize that he had said that out loud. "Ah man, nah, I was just singing a rap song," Jay said, trying to conceal the truth.

"Listen, youngin', lie down and get some sleep 'cause before you know it they'll be calling us to eat chow.
